A Season of Giving: Tree Lighting Raises $7,000 for Operation Warm Heart!
The holiday season in Southern Highlands kicked off with heart and purpose as the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation partnered with the Southern Highlands Community Association to present the annual Tree Lighting & Winter Festival, a festive evening filled with community cheer, magical moments, and meaningful impact.
Held in the heart of Southern Highlands, the event brought residents and families together under twinkling lights to celebrate the spirit of the season — all while raising $7,400 in support of Operation Warm Heart, an initiative benefitting local military families in need.
From the moment the holiday lights illuminated the sky, guests were treated to an unforgettable winter wonderland. Children’s faces lit up with joy as they met Santa Claus, Mickey Mouse, and Winnie the Pooh for festive photo ops. The scent of warm pretzels and sweet treats filled the air thanks to on-site favorites Wetzels Pretzels, Iced Sugar Factory, and Fast Eddie’s Burgers. Complimentary hot chocolate kept guests cozy as they enjoyed holiday train rides weaving through the venue.
A lively Vendor Village, featuring over 15 local artisans and small businesses, offered unique and thoughtful gifts for the holidays, while the Mickey Mouse DIY craft station gave little ones the chance to get creative. Families also bounced and played the night away in the holiday-themed inflatable zone, adding to the cheerful energy of the evening.
“The Southern Highlands Tree Lighting & Winter Festival is more than a community tradition — it’s a celebration of compassion and connection,” said a representative from the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation. “We are honored to support Operation Warm Heart and are grateful to everyone who helped make this night one to remember.”
As twinkling lights sparkled and families gathered to celebrate, the event served as a powerful reminder that when communities come together, they can make the season brighter for everyone.
