Garry Goett Honored as Humanitarian of the Year
The Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation is proud to celebrate Founder Garry Goett for being named Humanitarian of the Year at the Vegas Inc Angel Awards, a prestigious recognition honoring individuals whose dedication and generosity have made a lasting impact throughout Southern Nevada.
For more than 25 years, Garry has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children, families, and individuals facing challenges across our community. Through both personal involvement and philanthropic leadership, he has helped create opportunities, provide critical resources, and inspire others to give back.
Founded by Garry and his wife, Darilyne Goett, the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation was established with a simple yet powerful mission: to improve the quality of life for underserved families throughout Southern Nevada, with a special focus on women and children. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $30 million in support of local nonprofit organizations and community programs.
The Foundation's impact can be seen across Southern Nevada. Thousands of children have attended life-changing summer camps, students have received clothing, school supplies, and tutoring services, and individuals with disabilities have been empowered through meaningful employment opportunities. These efforts have been made possible through partnerships with organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, Opportunity Village, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Children's Heart Foundation, Assistance League of Las Vegas, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, and DISCOVERY Children's Museum, among many others.
In announcing the award, Vegas Inc recognized not only Garry's philanthropic contributions, but also his hands-on approach to community service. Throughout the years, he has dedicated his time to leadership and advisory roles with numerous nonprofit organizations, helping advance their missions and strengthen their impact throughout the region.
Reflecting on the Foundation's work, Garry shared:
"From funding critical medical care, to supporting summer camps and students in the Clark County School District with clothing, school supplies and tutoring services, our goal is to uplift those in need and create lasting positive impact in our community."
This recognition is a testament to Garry's vision that successful communities are built by investing in people. His leadership has helped shape not only neighborhoods and businesses throughout Southern Nevada, but also a culture of generosity that continues to transform lives every day.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, our nonprofit partners, volunteers, donors, and the countless individuals whose lives have been touched by the Foundation's work, we congratulate Garry Goett on this well-deserved honor.
We are grateful for his continued leadership and inspired by his commitment to making Southern Nevada a stronger, more compassionate community for all.
